Specific Terms – Important terms applying to our Cricket bets
Our general Terms and Conditions (click here) apply to our Cricket bets in addition to the Specific Terms below. Please note that if there is any conflict between the Specific Terms and our general Terms and Conditions, these Specific Terms will take precedence.
-
Are there any specific rules which apply to particular types of Cricket bets. Yes, we have set these out in “Specific Cricket Betting Rules” (please click for further detail).
-
What is the maximum payout on Cricket bets. The maximum pay-out which applies to a Cricket bet is £100,000. Please note that the maximum pay-out may be lower where you have placed bets on other events. Please see our general Rules and Limits area for more details.
The limits are applied as follows:
- They represent the maximum you can win in a day.
- Where your Cricket bet is part of a multiple or accumulator bet, the maximum you can win will be the lowest maximum payout for any of the bets which make up the multiple or accumulator bet. For example, you place a double consisting of 1 Cricket and 1 Novelty selection. The maximum amount payable on the bet will be equal to the maximum Novelty payout.
-
We limit certain combinations of bets. For example:
- related contingencies where the outcome of one market/event directly influences the price or outcome of another, i.e. Manchester United to win the last match of the Premier League season and Manchester United to win the Premier League, or Novak Djokovic to win his Wimbledon semi final match and Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon.
- Any other combinations are set out in the Rules.
Please note: We are not always able to stop you playing a game or placing bets which will lead you to exceed these limits but where we are able to we will and where we are not then these limits will apply in any event.
-
Do you have to use the betslip we provide. You must complete our betslips with the following information:
- the event you wish to bet on,
- the outcome of the event that you wish to bet on, and
- the stake you wish to place.
-
Why do we show estimated returns. For any bet that you wish to place, we provide an estimate of how much your stake would make at the price/odds shown on the betslip at that time. However, this is for information only and the price/odds are subject to change and are only fixed when we provide you with confirmation of our acceptance of your bet.
-
What happens if the price/odds change before we accept your bet. Where this happens, the price and return information will change on your betslip and you will be asked if you want to accept and place the bet or not. If you would like to automatically accept such price/odds changes, you can set a preference in your account to automatically accept odds if they are better.
We may also make an option available to you to automatically accept all changes. If we do this and you choose this option, then please note that you are agreeing to accept the changes whether they are in your favour or not.
This preference setting will work for all sports bets added to your betslip (including any ‘in-play’ bets) but does not work on any Lotto, Totepool or Virtual bets.
-
How do you know if we have accepted your bet. When we accept your bet:
- we will provide you with a confirmation message on your betslip,
- we will confirm this in your ‘Bet History’, and
- we will give you a bet reference number.
If you do not see the confirmation and have nothing in your ‘Bet History’ then your bet has not been accepted by us. Please contact our customer service team if you would like to understand why it has not been accepted.
-
What happens if there is a ‘void’ selection or a ‘non-runner’ in your bet on multiple events (accumulator). We will remove the ‘void’ selection or ‘non-runner’ and your stake will be placed on the remaining selections (i.e. a triple will become a double or a double will become a single, and so on). We will also adjust your estimated return and deposit balance accordingly.
-
What results do we use when settling our bets. It is important to us that we use reliable sources when settling the bets we offer. We will often check a number of different sources. If these sources differ, there may be a slight delay while we seek confirmation of the result. Where we use a specific source, we will mention it in the Rules.
-
What happens if a winner is disqualified or a decision is amended after the result is confirmed. The disqualification or amendment will not change the result for the purposes of settling the bet.
-
What if we accept a bet after the event has started. If a bet is inadvertently accepted by us after the event has started (unless placed on a live ‘in-play’ or ‘in-running’ market) the bet will only stand provided that:
- the outcome is not known; and
- no team/participant has gained any advantage (e.g., a goal being scored or a player being sent off).
If the outcome is known, or an advantage deemed to have been gained, we will void any bets taken in error.
If a bet is accepted by us after the start of an event, and the ‘in-play’ market reflects a price for that market, the ‘in-play’ price at the time of acceptance will deem the bet ‘valid’ and the bet will be settled accordingly. If there is not an ‘in-play’ market, and the bet is accepted after the start of the event (including any ‘grace’ time), the bet will be deemed ‘void’ and stakes returned.
-
How can I see if I have won my bet. Any winnings will be displayed in your bet history.
-
Why has my bet not been paid out. We endeavour to settle all bets as soon as possible. We normally settle Cricket bets within a short time of the match finishing, wherever possible.
-
Cash-out opportunities. Where this option is made available on your bet, it will give you the opportunity to settle your bet early at the value displayed, without having to wait for the event to finish. Please note that this is not available on all bets. Full details of how this operates is set out within the Cash Out FAQs area.
-
What happens where two or more of your selections ‘dead heat’. Where two of your selections dead heat (i.e. finish at the same time), half the stake money is lost and the full odds paid on the other half of the stake money. If more than two of your selections dead heat the stake is proportioned accordingly. If two of your selections dead heat for second (or third) place then those selections are deemed to have finished joint second and third (or joint third and fourth) etc., with place bets being settled accordingly.
-
What is a Rule 4(c) deduction and when is it applied. This rule comes from horseracing and the Tattersalls Committee Rules on Betting.
- For our horseracing bets, the Tattersalls Committee Rules will apply unless we make clear in the Rules that this is not to be the case in any particular circumstances.
- For all other bets, we may apply the equivalent of a Rule 4(c) deduction where a selection is withdrawn from the event before it has started.
Specific Cricket Betting Rules
First Class Matches
- Series Betting
- Where no price is quoted for a drawn series, and the official competition rules do not determine a winner, settlement will be declared void.
- Should the designated number of matches not be completed, series winner bets will be settled on the official result by the sport's governing body, and all series correct score bets will be void.
- Series Top Batter /Top Wicket Taker – The player must be in the starting eleven in at least one match for bets to stand.
- Match Betting
- If any match is abandoned for any reason other than the weather, all bets will be deemed void, except for any markets which have been unconditionally determined.
- Subject to the above rule, all bets will be settled on the official result, provided at least one ball has been bowled.
- In the event of a tie, dead heat rules will apply and all bets on the draw will be deemed losers. A tie is when the two teams finish with the same scores after all innings have been completed.
- If a match ends in a draw and no draw price was quoted, then bets are void (Draw No Bet).
- Team of Top Batter
- Only runs scored in the 1st Innings will count towards settlement. In the event of a tie, this market will be settled as a tie.
- Top Batter/Wicket Taker
- Any Top Batsman/Wicket Taker bets placed on any player(s) not in the starting eleven will be void and a deduction in line with Tattersalls Rule 4 as used in horse racing may apply to all remaining players.
- Top Batsman/Wicket Taker bets placed on any player(s) that are in the starting eleven, but do not bat or bowl, will be settled as losers. Any Player(s) entering the field of play under the "Impact Substitute" rule or similar, will count towards final settlement on all markets.
- In Test matches affected by weather, a minimum of 60 overs must be bowled, unless the team is all out or has won the match or the Top Batsman/Wicket Taker bet has been unconditionally determined, otherwise all bets on Top Batsman/Top Wicket Taker will be deemed void.
- Unless otherwise stated, all Top Batsman/Wicket Taker bets will only be settled on the First Innings scores.
- Any Player(s) entering the field of play under the "Impact Substitute" rule or similar, will count towards final settlement on all markets.
- First Innings Lead
- Bets will only stand if both teams have completed their first innings, having been bowled out or in the event of a declaration, unless the outcome has already been unconditionally determined.
- Batsman Match Bets
- All Batsman match bets will stand providing both players are in the starting eleven and are at the crease for at least one ball bowled, regardless of whether they face a delivery.
- All Batsman match bets are valid for the first innings only, unless otherwise stated.
- Wicket Taker Match Bets
- All Wicket Taker match bets will stand providing both players are in the starting eleven and bowl at least one ball.
- All Wicket Taker match bets are valid for the first innings only, unless otherwise stated.
- Highest Opening Partnership/Highest 1st X Overs
- Highest Opening Partnership - Bets will stand if both opening partnerships are completed, or the outcome has been unconditionally determined.
- Highest 1st X Overs - Bets will stand if both teams have faced the allotted overs in the market (e.g. Highest 1st 6 Overs, Highest 1st 15 Overs) unless a result has been unconditionally determined.
- Settlement is determined on the final score of both teams and 1st Innings only unless otherwise specified.
- Innings Runs/1st X Over Runs
- Innings Runs - The entire innings allocation must be completed for bets to stand unless the team has won, been bowled out or the outcome of the bet has already been unconditionally determined.
- Markets specifically betting on the Innings Score after the 1st 5 Overs, 1st 6 Overs, 1st 10 Overs, 1st 15 Overs, 1st 20 overs, 1st 25 overs or similar) require the full allocation of overs to be bowled for bets to stand, unless the outcome of the market has already been unconditionally determined at the time of curtailment.
- Extras and penalty runs attributed to a specific delivery will count towards the total. Any penalty runs for slow play/over rate will not count.
- Over Markets
- Total Runs/Extras/Boundary Four/Six in Over X - The over must be completed for bets to stand unless the team has won or been bowled out or the outcome of the bet has already been unconditionally determined. This applies to all Odd/Even bets and any Total market related to a specific over.
- Wicket in Over X -The over must be completed for bets to stand unless the team has won or been bowled out or the outcome of the bet has already been unconditionally determined.
- Extras and penalty runs attributed to a specific delivery will count towards totals. Any penalty runs for slow play/over rate will not count.
- Total Runs Individual Delivery
- The delivery must be bowled for a result to be determined, otherwise the market is void.
- For settlement purposes Extras and Penalty runs attributed to a specific delivery will count towards the total of that delivery and a new market will be formed for extra deliveries. Any penalty runs for slow play/over rate will not count.
- Each market refers to each delivery as bowled and each is settled in it's own right e.g. a market displayed as 0.1 refers to Over 1 Delivery 1, 0.2 refers to Over 1 Delivery 2 etc.
- In the event of any extra deliveries bowled in an over, settlement refers to the ball as it is bowled and not as shown on any scorecard. For example, if the ball 1.1 is a wide - that ball will be settled as 1 run and 1.2 is then bowled - bets on 1.1 would not apply for the re-bowled delivery.
- Session Runs
Each day’s play is divided into the following three ‘Sessions’ as described below:
- Session 1 – from the start of the day until lunch.
- Session 2 – from lunch until tea.
- Session 3 – from tea until close of play.
If a minimum of 20 overs are bowled in a stated session, the result shall be settled on the accumulative score of one or more innings within that session. In the event of 20 overs not being completed, all bets will be settled as void unless the team is all out or has won the match or the outcome of the bet has already been unconditionally determined.
Example:
At start of play – England 150 for 7. During the first session England are bowled out for 200, Australia bat and at lunch are 50 for 1. The market would therefore be settled as 100 Session Runs.
