General Rules
Sports Betting
- The ‘To Win’ calculation is for information only and all bets will be calculated using the stake/risk at the odds accepted. In multiple bets (accumulators) with a void selection(s) the ‘To Win’ figure will be reduced accordingly.
- All prices are subject to change and are fixed only when a bet is placed.
- We reserve the right to propose a different stake size or price for the selection on any bet, before the bet has been confirmed. In the ‘My Preferences’ area you are able to set what will happen in these circumstances. The default setting is to not automatically accept price fluctuations. Therefore, if the current price/handicap is higher than the price on the bet slip when you choose to place your bet, then the bet will be placed at the current price. For example, if the price on the bet slip is 10/1 but the current price is 12/1 the bet will be placed at 12/1. If you do not want this default position to apply, please change your settings.
- A bet will only be deemed as valid once a bet reference has been issued by us. The bet reference will be displayed immediately following the bet being placed by you and can also be viewed in the ‘My Account’ screens.
- All bets on 1st and 2nd un-named favourites will be made at the starting price for that selection and no other price will be accepted.
- Should a bet be inadvertently accepted by us after the ‘off’ (unless placed on a live ‘in-play’ market) the bet will stand provided that:
- the outcome is not known; and
- no team/participant has gained any advantage (e.g., a goal being scored or a player being sent off).
- If the outcome is known, or an advantage deemed to have been gained, we will void any bets taken in error, whatever the outcome.
- Should a bet be accepted after the start of an event, and the ‘in-play’ market reflects a price for that market, the ‘in-play’ price at the time of acceptance will deem the bet ‘valid’ and the bet will be settled accordingly. Should there not be any ‘in-play’ market, and the bet be accepted after the start of the event (including any ‘grace’ time), the bet will be deemed ‘void’ win or lose, and stakes returned.
- Where you place a multiple bet and any part(s) of the bet becomes void (other than by reason of your breach of the Terms) or are deemed a non-runner then the bet will be settled on the remaining parts of the bet.
- Horse racing has specific rules relating to the acceptance of bets (including ante-post bets which are bets placed in advance of an event taking place) and they will be applied by us as detailed in those rules (see the Tattersalls Committee Rules on Betting).
- For other sports where no such rule is detailed, and in the absence of any special conditions being advertised by us, any bets placed in advance of any event taking place will be deemed to have been accepted on the basis of “All in, compete or not”. Accordingly, in the event of non-participation, stakes will be lost and no so called ‘rule 4’ deductions will be made from winning bets.
Sports (Betting 'In-Play')
When placing any ‘in-play’ bet on our Website, you should be aware of the following:
- Certain 'live' feeds - be they on TV, radio or the internet - are subject to delays and as such you may be watching an event slightly behind or slightly ahead of other users. This includes the live streaming products we provide on our Websites.
- A 'delay' is placed on all betting ‘in-play’ bets, the length of which varies depending on the sport. If a price/handicap changes during the delay between clicking 'bet' and the bet actually being placed, you will be given the option of placing the bet at the new price or not placing the bet at all. For example, if the price on the bet slip is 7/2 but the current price is 3/1, you will be asked to confirm whether you still wish to place your bet at 3/1 or not.
- Similarly, prices on all selections change regularly to reflect fluctuations in the market or changes in the events themselves, such as a goal being scored. In some cases, the price/handicap may change between the time you place your bet on the bet slip and the time the bet is actually placed by you. You will be given the option of placing the bet at the new price or not placing the bet at all.
- Any live scores, scoreboards or representative match-play displayed on our Website during a bet ‘in-play’ event are for guidance purposes only and may contain errors. You should not rely on these to make any decisions and we take no responsibility for any reliance you may have placed on such displays when making your bet selection.
- Should a bet be inadvertently accepted by us after the outcome of an event is known, the bet will stand provided that no team/participant has gained any advantage. If the outcome is known, or an advantage deemed to have been gained, we will void any bets taken in error, whatever the outcome.
Virtual Sports
- Virtual Sports include all events or markets offered under the section of the same name. The same betting rules will apply to all the Virtual Sports as those of any real-life sports of the same kind.
- As the representation of Virtual Sports are generated electronically, their outcome is determined by computer also, from a draw by a Random Number Generator (RNG) we would refer you to section [12] of the Terms (Game Fairness)
Settlement of Bets/Double Result
- We endeavour to settle all bets as soon as possible. We normally settle horse racing bets soon after the result is known and football bets within a short time of the match finishing, whenever possible.
- For all the bets we offer, it is very important that we seek proper and official confirmation of the correct results at all times. To this end, we will often check a number of different sources. If these sources differ, there may be a slight delay while we seek confirmation of the official result.
- If a winner is disqualified or a decision is amended after the official result is announced, the disqualification or amendment will not affect the settlement of bets.
- With the exception of scorecasts and wincasts (and any other bet we specifically offer) where a specific price is offered and the outcome is related and dependent where one selection influences the outcome of the others, i.e. Manchester United to win in 90 minutes and Manchester United to win 2-1 is not permitted in a double. Any such bet accepted in error will be settled with the full stake being placed on the outcome with the biggest price attached to it from the ‘related bet’.
- Where two runners dead heat, half the stake money is lost and the full odds paid on the other half of the stake money. If more than two runners dead heat the stake is proportioned accordingly. If two runners dead heat for second (or third) place then those runners are deemed to have finished joint second and third (or joint third and fourth) etc., with place bets being settled accordingly.
