Confidentiality

Any and all information received from players is held in the strictest confidence by Betfred Poker. Player information will never be forwarded to any organization for commercial or any other gain, save that required by law. Read our privacy statement.

Game Integrity

Betfred Poker employs a combination of automated and human monitoring tools to identify and prevent any irregular play patterns or incidences of collusion between players, thus ensuring fair gaming and a pleasant, honest poker environment. Advanced algorithms designed by veteran poker professionals and industry experts are set to trigger system events should any such patterns be identified; all gaming activity - every card, hand, move, win, loss, etc. - is recorded by the system to aid investigation. Betfred Poker has enlisted the services of a team of experienced poker players utilizing a sophisticated monitoring system that automatically detects suspicious play patterns in the poker tables.

Players using Playtech’s software can be assured that the game includes a sophisticated suite of analysis tools used extensively by the Collusion Detection team, and these tools, together with trained observers/surveillance executives working 24/7 will keep cheats where they belong - well away from our games!! If there are any cheats out there - we are watching you and will have no hesitation in excluding you from the game, and sharing your name with other operators.

Although we will always adopt an “innocent until proven otherwise” policy, the intricate play-pattern analysis and corresponding game behaviour will create the necessary information needed to arrive at accurate conclusions. Depending upon the seriousness of the overall findings, players may be asked to provide valid explanations for their suspicious behaviour or, in more extreme cases, we reserve the right to remove players from the site.

Actions Against Colluders and Fraudulent Activity

We are absolutely committed to keeping cheats away from our site, so that our players can enjoy their games at Betfred Poker, reassured in the knowledge that their play is backed by fairness and total integrity. It will be our firm policy to deal in the most determined and severe ways available with any individual or group of individuals who threaten or attempt to affect the game to the detriment of others in this way.

Any information gathered about known cheats, colluders or others guilty of fraudulent activity will be distributed to other online gaming sites and, where appropriate to regulators and government authorities in the jurisdiction of the player(s) involved.

Innocent players, the victims of such activity, will be treated with sympathetic concern. We encourage any player who believes he or she has been cheated, to report the offender (in complete confidence) by email to support@betfredpoker.com. Complete records and a history of every hand are maintained at all times, and such records can be easily accessed and reviewed by the player.

Finally, to all of you planning to, or already enjoying playing our games, we wish you the best of luck and can guarantee, with confidence, the fairest game possible.

What are rakes and how much is the Betfred rake?

The rake is a small percentage of the pot taken as the house commission. The rake for a pot can range from 0% to 5% of the total pot depending on the number of players and the table limits. Any pots less than $5 and any hands which do not reach the flop are not charged any rake.

What do I do if a player is being abusive in the chat?

We do not tolerate abusive language at the tables and whilst we monitor the chat as much as possible, we also rely on players to notify us of any inappropriate behaviour. Do not be tempted to retaliate, as this will more than often inflame the situation and may result in both players having their chat privileges revoked.

What do I do if the game I want to join is full?

You can put your name down on the waiting list from the lobby section on the right-hand side underneath the list of player names. You will be allocated a place in the queue depending on how many players are already waiting, and then you will be offered your seat as they become available.

What happens if I get disconnected during a cash side game?

If you are disconnected whilst involved in a pot, ‘all-in’ disconnection protection is in place to allow the player to remain in the hand, but take no further action in the betting. The player is therefore only entitled to win the amount of the pot they were involved in up to the point of disconnection (similar to if the player had no more chips, they are treated as if they were all-in for everything contributed up to that point). The protection is in place for genuine disconnections only and any player who misuses it may:

  • Forfeit any money won
  • Lose their disconnection privileges

Players must accept the risk of disconnections, as unfortunately they can and do occur.

What happens if I get disconnected during a tournament?

Unfortunately there is no disconnection protection policy for tournaments, so you will be marked ‘away from the table’, and your hands will be folded until you re-connect.

What happens if I logout or get disconnected before a tournament I registered for starts?

For a scheduled multi-table tournament, you will remain registered if you log out. For a Sit ‘n’ Go tournament (single table) you will be asked whether you wish to un-register for the tournament at the time of logging out.

What is a buddy list and how do I use it?

If you find one of your friends on the tables and would like to be able to easily find them again in the future, you can label them as one of your ‘buddies’. Your buddies can be easily spotted on the tables as they are marked with a handshake symbol in the bottom-right corner of the player’s name. From the lobby, you can search for any of your buddies to see if they are playing from the ‘Players’ tab. You can also search for any other players who may not already be on your buddy list from here.

What languages are permitted at the poker tables?

Although we are aware that English is not the first language of many of our players, to maintain fairness, it is our policy that English only should be spoken at the tables at all times.

Where do I find the play money tables?

You will find the play money tables separated from the real money games listed in the lobby under the tab named ‘Fun’. There are fun tables for each of the different poker game types available.

Why is there a fee added to the buy-in for tournaments?

There is a 10% fee charged for a tournament entry, which is taken as the house commission. In rebuy tournaments, there is no added fee for any rebuys.
